Breaking: FG Sues Meta, Seeks 30Bn Penalty
Reports have it that the Federal Government of Nigeria through it’s highly recognized body ARCON, sued Meta over the supposed “Unvetted and Unapproved Adverts” shown to Nigerians on its platforms.

FG sues Meta Platforms Incorporated and its representative AT3 Resources Limited at the Federal High Court’s Abuja Judicial Division.
The lawsuit filed by ARCON reveals that the continued advertisements from Meta on Instagram and Facebook to her citizens without vetting and approval are unlawful practices.
ARCON also statement that such practice has led to loss in the revenue of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The body therefore seeks 30bn as penalty for the violation of advertising laws and also for loss of revenue resulting from the continued unvetted and unapproved advertisements from Meta’s platforms to Nigerians.
The body also reiterated that it won’t accommodate any unethical or irresponsible advertisment on the advertising space of Nigerians.
